If I were you I'd go read the book to find out what you've missed out on. Plus you'll get to meet the Losers as adults.

Goo point but I whant to know know. Lol.

My question is at the end of the movie when the kids are in penywise layer the kids floating if that was part of the book or made up for the movie. I loved the turtle

Hi Hill lover 35, I read the book a few times in the past and have heard the phrase 'we all float down here' but I don't remember reading anything about people actually floating, like that scene in the movie. Also, the house on Neibolt Street was entered via a cellar window, not through the front door. In the book they made preparations to face IT, there didn't seem to be any preps made in the movie. I think the movie nailed the heart of the story, despite any niggly little differences between the book and the film. I'll end this by saying you should read the book. It is very, very good. All the best, mal.

Mike's parents aren't deceased in the novel, at least during the 1958 section. He's very close to his father in the book. As AchtungBaby said, there's plenty material about Mike and his family in the book that were too extraneous for a two hour movie. If you don't want to read it, try the audiobook. Maybe you could listen to it on your way to work and on the ride home.

Their is one panel in Locke and key by joe where i wonder where that came from. The mom is an alcholoic, and in one part she screams at the young son bode and the older son Tyler just whent off on her and said something like how dare you this to bode, you are awfull. And later when the mom shows him her one mounth sober chip. And Tyler was like I love you. His kids will always be compared to Steve.

hi I have not read the book, and I was wondering what the changes where. Thanks, I just saw the movie and I really liked it

Biggest change, I think, was the gutting of Mike's character. :( In the novel he's the one with the love of Derry's history, not Ben. The change makes sense but it left Mike with much less to do.

it would take all day to tell you. there's a lot of big things and dozens of small things. i'd recommend checking the book out for yourself. the audio book is great. i'd actually disagree and say the biggest major change was the time period, because that caused many other changes to come about, because stuff that worked for the original 50s/80s time period doesn't work quite as well for the updated times. and with the adults movie upcoming, there will likely be a few dozen more changes. maybe someday we can make a forum game of listing them all lol.
