Okay, stole that straight from Sunny.

I can't take it anymore you guys. I just have to yap about Christmas.

First, I would just really like to encourage all of you --

If someone says Merry Christmas! to you, respond in kind and add a big smile.

If someone says Happy Hanukkah! to you, respond in kind and add a big smile.

If someone wishes you Happy Holidays, Season Greetings, Happy Kwanzaa, Joyous Festivus for the Rest of Us, respond in kind and add a big smile.

Is it really, really going to hurt you to just smile and say, "Same to you!" whether you celebrate that particular holiday or not? Is it going to wound you to your very core?

The sentiment that is said to you is said with no maliciousness and only with joy and good wishes for the season. Just accept them. Please?

Also, I have now preset one of my buttons for my Sirius car radio with a Christmas song station. I have attempted to sing along with Burl Ives, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Yes. I have.

I also went and bought a Star Shower Slide Show to add to my other Star Shower light fixtures. I use them inside. They are fabulous and yes, I have already checked it out.

And, I would like to give you the link to this lady on present wrapping. She has videos for more styles.

Even though a lot of my gifts are money and gift cards, I STILL put them in a box and wrap them pretty. I get very creative with my wrapping. For instance, last year, my nephew wanted money. So, I bought a little wooden chest, small chest, and I gave him money in small bills BUT, I folded the bills into origami shirts. So when he unwrapped the wooden chest and opened it, it was filled with little paper shirts.

So, make an effort to be creative.

...you speak true m’lady.... returning wishes of the season costs you nothing, but pays all the dividends of the heart...

Exactly. I don't know why some get so bent out of shape if someone chooses a more generic greeting or a specific one. Who cares? Just be kind and smile and return the good wishes. Let your heart have that moment.

My generic greeting is just Merry Christmas. My town is getting more and more multicultural so I may even learn some new greetings to use at work.
This year I'll be working Christmas eve, I've done most of my Christmas shopping so I now just have to get some other little bits. On Christmas Eve after work, I'll brave the crowds and finish my shopping and when I get home to bake something Christmasy, I always wrap my presents at night on Christmas Eve I've got a Christmas themed playlist on youtube I can play while doing my wrapping and on Christmas Day I'll be traveling to the city to catch up with my brother with mum.

As a child, Christmas day was spent traveling from one relative to another on my fathers side of the family. By the time we came home, the day was over. I promised my children they would have Christmas at home. The best memories are on my mom's side- being of Russian/ Polish decent that Christmas was celebrated on January 7th.
Never mastered the art of wrapping, but most of my gifts to others are hand made. To avoid the mailing rush, I start in October and gifts are mailed out- wrapped in pretty Christmas wrap as best I can do. November gets the next round, with December for the cards.
Christmas is also very special for the critters- household, strays and wildlife. The past few years it has been all about the critters. Santa Paws!

But, the fact you make your gifts IS the pretty. You don't need to fancy wrap it. I tend to try to make something special about it when I'm just giving money or a gift card.

Beautiful DanaJean! Inspiring! Good words to heed. Which I definitely shall. Thank you for a much needed reminder. The Christmas season seems to fly by year after year and it doesn't mean as much to me anymore (especially now that the grand kids aren't children anymore). I will try to find that holiday love feeling that I remember as a child and spread it around. I'm very tired of being angry at the news and the general direction that our society has been taking for a long while now, so I will say, to H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks with all of that, and will remember that Christmas is coming!!!

Very good! Do something extra silly fun for Mrs. Mal. She will adore you. She's had a rough time.

I was starting to bah humbug worse each year, and this year, I'm embracing it all. Okay, I may not be this enthusiastic come end of November, but dang it! I want to have that giddy feeling I had during the season when I was a kid. My birth family made xmas so unbelievably fun. My dad was the biggest kid out of all of us. He was so cute and funny! Us kids would catch him opening presents, and he would try to get us to open presents and we're like, "daddddd! we can't do that!" He was just silly.

I'm taking CHristmas back!

Okay, I had to run an errand. On my Christmas station comes the song, Baby It's Cold Outside, sung by Dinah Shore and Buddy Clark.

Here are the lyrics: PAY ATTENTION TO THE BOLDED PART.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside"

I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice

My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry?
Father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some records on while I pour

The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink? - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell

I ought to say no, no, no - Mind if I move in closer?
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride?
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ah, but it's cold outside

I've got to get home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your coat - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Thrill when you touch my hand
Why don't you see - How can you do this thing to me?

There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Think of my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that hold out
Ah, but it's cold outside
Oh, baby, it's cold outside
Oh, baby, it's cold outside

Among other things, SAY WHAT'S IN THIS DRINK? This dude is trying to roofie Dinah Shore! WTH????? What an f'n creeper!

And this is a damn Christmas song?
