No, I didn't. The closest I came was the videos and suggestions you gave me.

I heard this last year while I was busy doing something and instantly my nose cavity burned and I had to rub away the mist from my eyes. I didn't cry but was oddly overcome with the memory of seeing Home Alone with my dad at the theater. It was a winsome memory and I remembered his laugh, it was so loud he embarrassed himself. Too funny. We had a strained relationship but six years after his death I had sat down, this song playing on the television, and pondered all the sacrifices he'd made to ensure my sister and I had a happy Christmas.
Well...no. But I do have two strands of lights draped over a bookcase and a china cabinet, and I have one star shower light thingy aimed at the ceiling -- I have two more to unbox and get situated in just the perfect spot.
after tomorrow, I will have the rest of my decorations in full Christmas mode.

I'm getting in the spirit. I'll be there in a minute. That first week of December is jam-packed with events and such, Dec 2nd-10th oofah! I'm not shopping anywhere except from my laptop. I do believe I'll get the tree and decorations up this weekend. Sometimes we wait - sometimes we don't. Our only real traditions are: Midnight Mass Christmas Eve and Chinese Food Christmas Day (for A Christmas Story). Take out,though. And I usually go in my pjs to pick it up because we also lounge around all day and watch Christmas movies.
My favorites: Christmas Vacation, Love..Actually, It's a Wonderful Life.
My sister in law goes all Clark Griswald - that's always a fun spectacle.
I am totally getting excited for the New Years Eve Twilight Zone marathon. My kind of party!
Here's the cookies I like to make: Black & White Chocolate Peppermint. Oh so good. And different.

I'll most probably buy a Christmas pudding. There's some concert on next month and other stuff. I'll most probably buy one from a specially place here that makes puddings. Now that I don't react to people who try to have a go at me I feel closer to God.
