The BF asked me to make a list of things I'd like so he could choose from that. I sent a list of about five items I'd like, including the phrase "any of the Daisy perfumes by Marc Jacobs, they all smell divine" ........apparently, he checked online for that, because the message I received back was "Have you lost your damn mind?" I literally laughed out loud...... I had no clue it was so pricey. I just liked the fragrance and the bottle :biggrin2:

Got the outside Christmas decorations up Sunday. Temps never got above freezing. Had to take about 5 breaks to get feeling back in the fingers and toes. But the wife is happy with how it turned out. Not looking forward to taking it all down in about a month. Covered the pool table with the ping pong table that we do for a month. Also got 40 pounds of 5 different types of birdseed and suet for the wild birds for Christmas… for feakin’ birds… I must be crazy. :(

Just leave the lights up all year! Birds will greatly appreciate the food offerings.

I've often said we should just leave the lights up all year round. One year it wasn't until February until I took them down. That's the year the wife created the 11th commandment... Thou shalt not leave Christmas decorations up past January 10th.

Yeah, the birds appreciate it be leaving 'deposits' on everything. :)

Orange-Rosemary-Doves.jpg

Orange & Rosemary Grilled Doves

What you need:
18 to 20 whole doves plucked
2 tablespoons grapeseed or canola oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups fresh orange juice (about 4 large oranges)
zest of 1 orange
1 tablespoon rosemary, chopped
2 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoon pepper
pinch salt

What to do:
Prepare grill. Brush doves with oil and season with salt and pepper. While the grill is heating, prepare the glaze by combining the orange juice, orange zest, rosemary, honey, pinch of salt, and pepper. Bring to a good simmer over heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until it has reduced and thickened.
When the grill is ready, place the doves on the grill, breast up. Grill for three minutes with the cover on. Remove cover, do not flip, and brush the glaze on each bird. Cover and grill for 9 to 11 minutes depending on how well cooked you like your dove.
Remove the doves to a serving platter.

Yummmm… sounds like a new Christmas holiday meal tradition is in the makings. :)
