I haven’t even started wrapping gifts. But I’m kinda done buying. Unless I can sneak in one more lol,

I am only now feeling Christmassy. I wasn’t sure whether I would be seeing my youngest or not. He is basically living with his SO. Well, they’ve decided to come here Xmas Eve and spend the night. We had already bought the presents, but now I th8nk we should give SO some jammies. It’s traditional with our kids....they open one present Xmas Eve and it’s jammies.

Obviously, I cannot make them a stocking...but I can fill a store bought one.

I should explain. There is not any issue or fighting with DS. We will see him, just wasn’t sure if it would be on Xmas day. I had decided to just accept that we wouldn’t.
What a nice surprise! I hope that your Xmas Eve visit is great!

I forgot to tell you what I did.

I love Christmas Crackers, but I always hate what is in them. So, I bought some cheap dollar store crackers (8 for $3). I opened one end, added a scratch ticket, closed it and tied a Christmas decoration to each. The decoration was supposed to go it, but they didn’t fit.

I was going to make the crackers myself, but this was cheaper than buying a package of snaps.

Instead of another baked ham, I'm making cocktail sausages in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce (adding grape jelly and diced onion) with Pilsbury croissants and deviled eggs. I may fry some homemade chicken fingers, too. Snack stuff. I'm also making from scratch a pumpkin spice sheet cake with cream cheese icing and almond cookies. My sister might bring spinach dip with Ritz crackers. We will get Chinese food the following day.

What is everyone else cooking/eating for Christmas holiday?

Hubby is making his homemade Lasagna for Christmas Eve when my sister comes and exchanges gifts. Then Christmas Day be do snacks and left overs as everyone enjoys their gifts.

...speaking of cards, I want to publicly thank Neesy and Doc Creed for their thoughtful Christmas cards......I have gotten out of the habit of sending cards.....I would rather tell the person how I feel in person, secondly in a text or a post....and please don't feel that this is a condemnation of those that are kind enough to send cards....it's just my way....as a Speech/Communications major-I deal better in those formats and you can definitely read this easier than my chicken scratch on paper.....

Our meal plans are not set yet. Ha! We know we are going to the oldest's on Christmas Eve and I think they are making ham and the regular fixings. We will take their gifts and enjoy watching them open them. RJ will be with his mama on Christmas Day so this way we get to see him, too.

Christmas morning we will open our gifts. I am not sure about the menu. Weather is supposed to be mild, so maybe some steaks on the grill? Not sure yet. Should probably nail that down soon. :p :biggrin2:

Hi Scott - it's been a year today since my last day of work. That's the main reason I got my cards out so soon this year :frog:;;D:tickled_pink:

I think I got as much enjoyment out of sending them as the recipients did receiving them! Just glad that Canada Post came through for us!

The wife’s Christmas presents are starting to be delivered. I’m just leaving the boxes stacked aside of the door to drive her crazy. She says I’m evil and last night said if I don’t move them out of her sight there’s no supper for me tonight and I'm sleeping on the sofa. This morning I moved them to the garage.

Merry Christmas to all of my friends from the Board:
To those who believe in the birth of our Lord,
To those who hope Santa Claus thinks they've been nice,
Their names on a list which he always checks twice.

The joys of the season and Festivus cheer
I wish you good fortune throughout the New Year.
No matter the holiday you celebrate,
Whatever your time zone, I hope that it's great.
