I know that several of us suffer with chronic pain. A friend on Facebook posted a link to this article. I identified with it very strongly and thought others might find it interesting:

Why People Who Are Chronically Sick May Post on Facebook | The Mighty

As for me, I am housebound. If someone doesn't drive me, I can't go. I used to get out quite a bit but I can count on my one hand the number of times I actually went out for an evening's entertainment in the past 6 months. I keep in touch with the world through the Internet and my friends on Facebook, Twitter and here are my only friends (besides my wonderful husband). So, yeah, I'm online a lot. It keeps me sane. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain issues.

When I joined the SKMB, I of course, was greeted by John D right away as was everyone else who joined. For a long time, I didn't have any idea of what he was going through. I used to wonder how he always seemed to be online. When I finally found out what the deal was, I was always amazed at how he could be the one cheering everybody up. When he passed, I realized that I was glad that all of us were here for him. We all felt privileged to know him and it was nice to realize that we gave him some joy too. Even though there is a lot of meanness online, it can also be a pretty cool place.

The SKMB is definitely a place to enjoy time reading about SK and his works, and what is going on with the members and out in the world..it sure does help when you are having a bad pain day and don't feel like getting around much..

...I would be a complete dumpster fire without this place and you folks...I can be myself here and most don't seem to mind...when you meet me it's much the same as what you read, but I have plenty of baggage...coming here allows me to offload that for the nonce....

That was an interesting article, thanks :) I'm also housebound because of my stupid poor health. I havn't kept up with old friends since I can't do anything and I havn't met any of my neighbors since we moved to the country - I wouldn't know what to talk to them about anyways. They all have cows and I know zilch about cows lol. I dont tweet or belong to Facebook. The SKMB pretty much provides all the social contact I need. I love you guys :)

The SKMB is a better place because of and due to you Tery. We appreciate you.

I'd be hard pressed to believe I've EVER met anyone of your caliber sir. Maybe on another level of the tower, but not this one.
