Despite the fact they just released a remake of the original Child's Play in June, the remake did NOT have Mancini's blessings, and other cast members of the original franchise thought the remake was an idiotic idea. Why? Because Mancini, the creator of Chucky, had already pitched the idea of a tv series to SyFy (who ate it up) and the show starts later in the year or at the beginning of next year. In short, the franchise is going to be a mess. If they decide to do a sequel of the remake, there will also be the tv show with the original cast and creator, and Mancini also plans on making Chucky films on top of the tv series.

With that being said, I have no intention of watching the reboot unless its on HBO or Showtime and I come across it. I don't like the idea of Chucky just being an out of control robot, I like the supernatural elements of the original franchise. Secondly, the tv series sounds really promising. How can a tv series work? At this point in the original Chucky story, he can possess multiple people at the same time, so I imagine it'll be Andy going after those Chucky possesses. I think it'll have elements of Supernatural but I could be wrong but regardless, it has Dourif and he is Chucky.

It could work as a discrete episodic series where at the end of the weekly mayhem he ends up in a situation where someone else will find him or attach to him somehow. Kind of like 'Quantum Leap' or 'The Littlest Hobo'.

It is supposed to follow Cult Of Chucky so it should be easy. He'll just keep possessing different people which will lead to different experiences and Andy will probably run around trying to stop him all the time. As long as they don't make the same mistake they made with the Freddy show in the 80's, it should work out alright.
