I thought I'd bump this older thread. Hollywood Reporter has a list of the 100 Best Hollywood movies. I wonder who us has seen which of them and what we think of them, why they're considered "classics". I won't list the top ten as I figure talk of those is old news; I'll start with 40-49...

40. Fight Club (1999)
41. Psycho (1960)
42. Alien (1979)
43. Toy Story (1995)
44. The Matrix (1999)
45. Titanic (1997)
46. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
47. Some Like it Hot (1959)
48. The Usual Suspects (1995)
49. Rear Window (1954)

I've seen nine of these ten. Of those nine my favorites are Rear Window, Psycho, The Usual Suspects, Some Like it Hot, and Alien.

I've seen them all. 41 is the best, imo.
The first time I saw 43 was in the movies and I was in awe. I couldnt even describe it. It wasn't a "cartoon" but it wasn't live action.
44 and 49 are overrated.
As for 45, the main reason to see that is because of the vast amount of cultural references (she so could've made room for him on that wood).
46 was my 2nd favorite movie that year.
I never get tired of watching 48.

Me neither. Everybody days it's really good, but the subject matter, or what it seems to be, has never appealed to me. I should probably just watch it and find out for myself.

You're not missing much. I'm a huge Ed Norton fan, but like Titanic (except without the cool effects) the only reason to watch is to "get" the cultural references.
