Grandma and I like the comic book movies. Well, Marvel more than DC. We wearied of Batman a little bit, paid no attention to the Superman movies, laughed at Green Lantern when it to television where we were willing to watch it, but we've watched the Captain America, Thor, Ironman, and the Avengers with keen interest. (Spiderman's been a mixed bag.) When Chris Helmsworth was walking around in his suite on the second Thor, I'm pretty sure I heard Grandma vent a suppressed moan.
That's not TV. Now let's get to TV.
For us, DC has recovered with Arrow. We're wrapped up in it. It does take extra willing suspension of disbelief (apparently, Officer Lance is the only one in the entire frickin' city who doesn't know Arrow's identity) and disregarding some of the acting, but I'm there. You can have your Laurel and Sara - my crush is on Felicity. We enjoy Diggle (okay, they have some of the stupidest names) even as he moonlights as a mayor of NYC (cross-reference to Blue Bloods).
And while Marvel's Agents of SHIELD has dropped viewers during the season, and I can understand why, there's twists in the last few episodes that have us watching intently. It even crossed channels by reference to the new Captain America movie, so damnit, now we gotta see that too.
