I've always wondered about this part of the book.
Clotho and Lachesis inform Ralph and Lois that each person has an unending oceans-worth of energy inside them and therefore it is safe to funnel off of them. But if this is the case, don't Ralph and Lois already contain that unending oceans-worth of life within them? I understand the process is revitalizing them but if they need more energy than they already have, how much do they need from others to actually be enough? If the supply really is unending, why do they need someone else's?
But it doesn't break the book for me lol.

I'm looking forward to it and I'll definitely be seeing it in theaters but I have to admit I expected a ridiculous top hat reminiscient of 4 Non Blondes fame on the main villain lol. Now that I have seen the trailer I know this is not so.

You are a good person. I like people with black skin just as I like people with white skin. I'm not a racist. I am sitting next to a nice woman who likes me.

4 Non Blondes was a band from the 1990s. I heard at the time that they weren't even a real band. That they were solo musicians hired by a record company to perform together. Similar to how "boy bands" were put together. I don't know for sure either way.

In the music video I posted, their only hit before fading quietly into oblivion with Joan Osborne and Crash Test Dummies and so many others, their lead singer wears a ridiculously oversized top hat. I was remarking that while I read Dr. Sleep that was the hat I was envisioning on the main villain.

I am going to assume the bands name was why you saw racist connotations in what I said. We're living through a very delicate pass in our contemporary society which may be causing many of us to see racism (and sexism) everywhere. I think we can all agree that there have always been racists. My country has spent the last so many decades condemning racism. Some would argue that condemnation to be purely facetious, but it was condemnded nonetheless and as children, myself and my peers were conditioned to condemn racism and to embrace everyone regardless of such a factor. For many of us, despite the facetious nature many others would see in that condemnation, racism was disavowed.

However, life post-2015 has shown us that we weren't there and it's outed the racists of all the races living together in the same country. Now, more than ever it is important to remember who you were before everyone turned on each other. We are at a point where many are openly embracing racism. And maybe-just maybe-a facetious condemnation of racism is better than an open embrace of racism. Any show of willingness to come together is better than what we're all seeing play out in our society contemporarily.

So I understand what might be the reason you responded how you did. All I can say is everyone is being conditioned to see hate where there is none right now. If you weren't a racist before 2015 I believe you aren't one now. Try to remove yourself from the hysteria. It's unhealthy for your peace of mind. We all need each other if we're going to survive. Use your eyes and compare what you see to what external factors are telling you that you see. And although this crap has pitted us all against each other, the good thing is that it's identified the real racists to the rest of us. You can't fix a problem that isn't properly identified.

I hope you enjoy the Dr. Sleep movie as much as you are expecting to. I ache for something to love as much.
