I am an English Teacher in Northern New York State and I have just completed an Elective I created where five students came along with me on the DT quest. We read each of the 8 primary books in the series, thousands and thousands of pages this year. I am posting a picture of my "Ka-Tet" in hopes it reaches your attention. I thought as their teacher, the least I could do is try to get... this new class of gunslingers some attention from the author of the series I introduced them to. They would love any and all correspondence from you, maybe an autograph, or simply to see the picture be well-met on your page. As for me, I will hopefully continue to help recruit the gunslingers of tomorrow to keep the stories alive and to keep imaginations rich for my students. Long Days and Pleasant Nights Sai King...

Congrats to you, as a teacher for creating a class to encourage reading the Dark Tower journey. Congrats to your students for taking that journey. May they be inspired to take the journey again and again.
Your next set of "gunslingers" are about to venture into a journey of a lifetime. Thank you for creating this elective.
Welcome to the Ka-Tet of the Dark Tower.

What fortunate students, to have you for a teacher! I had one teacher that appreciated Mr. King's writing, and I appreciated him! Not all teachers are so wise: I've fought my kids' schools on more than one occasion because they took away Mr. King or Mr. Hill's books as 'inappropriate'. Congratulations for bringing so many on the road to the Tower!

I heard back from Steve and he thought this was very cool. Would you please send me your address in a Conversation so he can send something to you for your class?

Send me your name/address in a Conversation, too, and I'll send you a copy of The Dark Tower Companion for your class.

Well, that is certainly really exciting to hear. My students will be thrilled as well. My name is Lonnie Shippee and I am the teacher who designed this elective for juniors and seniors.

I appreciate the quick response and am very excited that Mr. King enjoyed the message and the photo of my class and me. Thank you so much!

I deleted your address as this could be seen by anyone coming to the site but have it on hand here. I'll send it along to Bev, too, so that he can send his book to you.

It is very kind of you to be so generous...I do hope to teach the class again soon!
Do you already have a copy of Robin Furth's The Dark Tower Concordance? We probably have an extra copy here in the office that I could send. Between that and Bev's book, you'd have a great reference library to go along with the Dark Tower books.

I have a personal copy, but I do not think I have the most updated version...unless I am mistaken. I am very grateful for your generosity. I am sure one of my students would appreciate their own personal copy if you do have extras. Thank you!!

Very cool, Lonnie of New York! I also am from Northern New York, it was a beautiful day today, mid seventies and very low humidity, just perfect upstate NY weather.. The class looks cool in their SK shirts, hope this is something that you continue with your upcoming students. Welcome to the SKMB..
