This story was really interesting on a couple different fronts for me.
It worked on many levels. Thinnys (reminiscent of DT), the one eyed, massive, grey cat, The hole, the hedges...
YES-I thought of DT also with the thinnies and the three teenagers she thought had "rat" heads.
Yes, the rat head teens, shape shifters and how the colors seemed too bright. Have you ever been to a place that somehow felt 'off'?
I've felt lost so many times and thought I was living a nightmare I might wake up from!
Was this the first story where SK mentions "Cthulhu?"
The kids, the boy had lobster claws for fingers.
Don't know if this is Stephen King's first nod to Cthulhu or not. I see it as a bit of an homage to Lovecraft though. Noticed Arc-sodiums.
Wasn't Cthulhu also mentioned in "N." also?-not to veer off topic!
I thought it was interesting SK decided to base this story abroad-made me think about how many places the "thinnies" might actually exist!
