It looks like the book is currently out of print and online retailers have boosted the price in a big way. There are copies on Amazon for over 40 dollars, non used copies that is, the used copies tend to go for 15-20. However, I went to B&N and found out that the book is going to be re-released in the middle of August and the re-print is going for around 15 dollars. The down side, I always put off getting the book because I figured I'd get it eventually and now that I'm ready to get it, I either have to wait until August or pay an absurd price. Speaking of King's novels, quite a few that are still in print are going for more than they used to. Cycle always was a bit more expensive probably because of the illustrations or the size but I always wanted a copy that was the standard size of a novel, and I think a few editions were but the last edition I saw was the size of a comic book graphic novel.

Anywho.. for those who want the book but see the price of it being pretty high, just wait until August when the new edition comes out.

Now only if Wolfen was re-printed... it probably won't happen because it has been over 30 years since they re-printed it if I remember right.

Interesting tidbit, if its true...

I read somewhere that Stephen King is superstitious when it comes to the number "13", which I am as well. The interesting thing and the reason I'm bringing it up here, Cycle of the Werewolf is being re-printed by a publisher with 13 in their name and it is being released on the 13th. If King is superstitious of 13, you'd think he'd be against that.

....there are some really decent copies on eBay at the moment and the asking prices aren't uber stupid....

I may just wait because I'm really digging the new cover of the reprint, not sure if anyone has posted it yet though.. lemme see if I can find it...

A hardcover reprint would have been nice but one can't have it all. I'm going to check Ebay on prices on hardcover versions but I'm sure its too high for me but I'll check anyways.

This is very cool that it is getting a reprint. Will there be any new content in it, like a new introduction?

Of course, I have to say I love my Silver Bullet screenplay edition. That has a great intro, the story, and the screenplay. I've always loved the style of writing that the prose version uses. Very poetic. Present tense, I think it was, although I would have to double-check if it was that way all throughout.

This version will hopefully lead to a new option for a movie or streaming series. A clever studio/prodco could turn this into a modern-day, It-like tale using social media and the like. (I am referring to It the movie here. I suppose I could also refer to Stranger Things, too.)

Is this reprint part of a recent deal (when I say recent, may have been a year ago) of a sale of paperback rights? Hopefully we get more cool paperbacks coming out, maybe with some new content.

Anyway, always liked this one...

(Quick edit: I'm assuming I'm not the only one getting some weird formatting on the board? The windows of the messages seem elongated, and when I submit, I have to refresh to edit because the message bleeds into the composition panel at the bottom.)

Thanks for that helpful info, Spidey.

Also wanted to mention one other thing: I think most here know that Cycle started off as an idea pitched to King that would have taken the form of a calendar with stories for each month. While it eventually evolved into the book, I do have to say I would love to see King do the calendar idea someday...

....I finally scored an original hardback in good condition....
Scott- does it have the typical sun fading to the spine of the dust jacket? In all the years of looking for one I have only seen one that wasn't faded from the sun and the price was beyond my budget. I suggest that you turn the book around on your shelf so that the spine is not facing outwards to prolong the life of the dj. Also- stephenkingcollector.com has matching slip cases for this book and they look fantastic! The material used is identical (almost!) to what the book is made with and they have the gold lettering too. Cost is only $34.95 plus shipping.
