I was reading a Hollywood Reporter article concerning the possibility that MTV may adapt Terry Brooks' Shannara series. One of the comments on the article happened to mention, because there was a claim that Brooks is something like the bestselling fantasy author who hasn't seen a major adaptation of his works (not sure if that is the exact qualification, going by recall), that Stephen King's Dark Tower series has sold 30 million copies. I was curious if this statistic was accurate or not. Thanks.

It is probably a guess as I have no idea where they would have gotten that figure from as there is no one place where we can go to get total sales figures.
