Yup, I agree. As far as plotting goes Koontz is one of the best in the business.
....I concur, but here's the sad part....as much as I love him-about the only novels I can recall a damn thing from-are the ones with re-current characters like Odd or Chris.....the others are great reads when I get them, but his plots just fall away from me-unlike King......

Odd and Christopher Snow are my favorite Koontz characters, too. I thought Strangers was well done. His characterization was sophisticated and more realistic than normal in that book.

Same here, mostly. The only ones that have stuck with me are Hideaway, The City, and Ashley Bell.

The Mask and Lightening were the first of his I read. He's been a bit hit and miss for me for a while, though I loved Innocence, The City and most of the Odd Thomas books.
Oooooh I have Innocence sat on my bookshelf, picked it up for 50p at a charity stall a while back.
I recently read "Darkness Comes" which was okay, I think it had a different title in the States though.
I may read Innocence soon if it's one of his better ones :)

I agree. Aside from Watchers, Strangers, and the first Odd book, I can never remember what I read even a couple of days later. Even Snow started to fade away after a little while. He's an easy read, and I generally enjoy the books, but they just don't stay with me. It's weird.

Definitely one of his better written one's, for sure. Everything seemed to gell, for me at least.
