I recently found a compilation of deleted scenes from the movie. I don't think they were featured as special features on the DVD. You can do a search on YouTube and it will pop up. Has anyone else seen this?

This movie is quite good - I like John Carpenter as a director - another good one of his is "The Thing".I have the 'Special Edition' dvd and it has '20 deleted and alternate scenes' on it. I really want to get this one on bluray!
Don't know about that but you'd better keep your eye out for a 2001 bright red Escort ZX2.........is there an intelligent Golden Retriever behind the wheel in any of them?......
...you mean the one with the "I Love Goldens" bumpersticker?...Don't know about that but you'd better keep your eye out for a 2001 bright red Escort ZX2......
...oxymoron alert......is there an intelligent Golden Retriever behind the wheel in any of them?......
Yes, I love this adaptation. The score is ingenious and the actors really sold the story. Carpenter uses a lot of panning in this movie...around corners, around concrete pylons, and more. It's smart because we are instantly in that particular character's POV for a moment and it's very effective. The only scene that leaves me scratching my head isThis movie is quite good - I like John Carpenter as a director - another good one of his is "The Thing".

(I can safely do this because I know everybody here hates Dean Koontz.)
Ah, there are two of us, then.
It's the same for me whenever there's a car chase in a movie and the car doing the chasing pulls up along side the one it's chasing and the one that was being pursued continues to drive like crazy to get away. My thought is always 'Just slam your damn brakes on and get behind the car that was chasing you and run it off the road, ya freakin' moron!' That's Hollyweird........Yes, I love this adaptation. The only scene that leaves me scratching my head isThe opening scene where you only hear the engine rumbling is classic. Unsettling.when Repperton tries to out run Christine down THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! Smh. I get there were probably time constraints and Carpenter probably couldn't shoot the complex scene in the book where Repperton runs up an embankment at a state park. But, it's a pretty good assumption that a man can't outrun a speeding car. Ha. I guess you could argue that Repperton thought Arnie was driving and didn't actually think he'd murder him...but this is only a minor complaint. After all, it is a movie about a possessed car.

Lmbo!Watching the deleted scenes reminded me just how much I liked this movie. I won't bother wondering why people don't always act rationally when someone or something is trying to murder them, people are just funny that way, I guess. What made me chuckle the most about Christine was the guy who asks Arnie what happened to his glasses.
"I don't know. I guess I lost them."
Oh ... so you're not half blind anymore? Cool!
I'm gonna have to go back and look at how this is addressed in the original.
I love the hamburger scene.
Most of these scenes should of been in the film.
I'm not sure which scene he means. There is a hamburger scene in the movie where Leigh starts choking. In the film they are at a drive-in but in the book Arnie and Leigh pick up a hitchhiker and they go to McDonald's. The hitchhiker saves Leigh from choking on the burger. Maybe this is the scene to which he's referring? What hamburger sceen?
