I think they're just verifying that the people are truly eligible to win as there were a lot of entries submitted that had to be disqualified.

Gravy and cheese - I must google that word Poutine.
It's French fries (or chips as they are called over there). Our chips are what you guys call 'crisps' - but anyway it is basically French fries with gravy and cheese curds. It originated in Quebec but now it's all over Canada. When I was in Quebec in the 80s some places even made an "Italian" poutine with tomato meat sauce on the fries instead of gravy but still with the cheese curds.
The pictures don't do it justice - it tastes better than it looks!

I haven't eaten in a restaurant, or take-out since around 1990. My son tried poutine when he went to Ottawa and loved it. So, when we found a peanut-free restaurant in Niagar Falls, he was thrilled they had poutine....with STEAK on it. It really was great.
