I'm working on a new book called - Bob Dylan - I Was There - which will contain accounts from over 400 fans memories of seeing Dylan live in concert.

The book will cover gigs and recordings from the start of his career until the end of 1969.

Did you ever see Dylan in the 60's? If so, would you be interested in sharing your story?

The book is being published by Red Planet later this year.

I didn’t see him perform until the 80’s. But I remember my father-in-law commenting that he saw him perform live in his early days... And that he didn’t go by ‘Dylan’ at the time. I’ll be seeing him this weekend and try and get the story.

Good you’re stopping at 69. You certainly don’t want to hear my or my oldest daughter’s story from the 90’s.

It's too bad that John D is not with us because I remember him telling of seeing Dylan in 1966 in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. John said he didn't see the hostility at the show he was at in Scotland that they had in England.

This doesn't have anything to do with the 60s Dylan but John always had these great stories and I remember this one

John knew Mick Ronson and told a story of how Ronson ended up on the 1976 Dylan tour. Ronson wanted to do some shows in the US but didn't have any support from a record company so he used his own money (which he didn't have much of) and put together some shows. His tour fell apart after a couple of shows in the Western part of the US and Ronson worked his way across the US looking for gigs and ended up with Dylan's band on the Rolling Thunder tour. Mick's misfortune with his own shows ended up working out pretty well for him.
