So far I haven't found any place that would offer the answer to that question. In the afterword of Volume 6, published in 1996, St. King discusses the possibility of making a single-volume version of The Green Mile, wondering how he could lose the installments element. So I'd really like to know how he made it in the end: how far did he alter the original text (including the various goofs he was aware he made in the making)? Thanks in advance . . .
