Busy evening-- originally read eons ago, so a quick re read. On the original read I felt a certain degree of disbelief, and a tad of humor with the reactions towards the finger. Having read SK as a constant reader, I can now observe the "Kingness" within it. One is drawn into the premise , this finger driving the poor man towards insanity. One just gets involved, caught up and awaits the next turn of events. What's that finger going to do? The ending was perfect!

I like this story a lot. In the notes section, SK says it is one of those stories where things just happen because they can. I think that's why I like it.

The finger stopping the tap, tap, tapping to point. Creepy. And the drain cleaner...eww. Cringe-worthy. Even more so than the hedge trimmer. And the last line is perfect.

I like this one too. It's a pretty simple horror story but it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I was wondering, did he kill his wife or is he really seeing that finger?

Who else could make a finger so damn creepy? ;-D

....it's one of the few King stories I was just "meh" about.....thought it was kinda dumb, if I'm being honest here....

Ok, Debbie Downer - Here's a moving finger for you.

In your mirror.
Afternoon!

Yay! I enjoyed it very much but I can't remember reading this before.
(I thought I had read everything King but, no. Late Thursday evening I found out I hadn't read The Green Mile and after a few quick searches I was able to get it from the e-library. Guess what I did all day Good Friday? Yay, The Green Mile and Sigs.)

I think the finger is real (and totally creepy real.) I don't think he killed his wife and is it just Siggy but...I can totally *see* it was a real finger (from he!! or something) but DO NOT believe "c" batteries can power a hedge clipper. =D

Thanks for the heads up Mr. fljoe0

The C battery thing was a little weird. I'm not sure I've ever had anything that used C Batteries, especially not hedge clippers.
