First published in "Who Died in Here?" -- an anthology of crime stories set in bathrooms! I remember that in addition to payment for the story, contributors were given a hanging air freshener by the editor!

All of that meticulous planning ruined by a power outage. 
I was surprised at the ending. I was kind of expecting David to wander downstairs and do something dumb and get caught. Now he gets to plan it all over again.

Delightful story of what can go wrong, and does. Laughed at the part when he realized he would not know at what point the movie had stopped due to the outage.

This was my favorite story in the collection. Funny and I hesitate to use the word whimsical, but almost whimsical.
Perfect crime planned out, foiled by power outage! Do you think he actually caused the outage though, or was it just a coincidence? I think just a coincidence, since he did not actually kill her, there could not have been enough of a power surge to cause a blackout.
I really enjoyed all the stories but this one was my favorite!

This month is flying by! Before I forget until it's too late because I keep thinking I've got a week more than I do, the Board will be closed the week of August 19th while I'm on vacation. I'll be taking another week or two soon but will depend entirely upon when my grandson is born. Due date is September 4th so will be right around that time but I won't be able to make the announcement until it actually happens.
