Yoyoyoyo my SKMB homies I’m starting this little thread ahead of time so that way I don’t forget over the two week deprivation of posting on here.

I guess we’re supposed to meet at 8pm ET on Oct 24? Please forgive my unprofessionalism I’ve never done of these before.

We are discussing The Black Cat by Edgar Allen Poe, I chose this story as it really scared the socks off an 11 year old me, but I forgot a lot of what happens outside of the main twist. So be sure to break out your Poe collections or find a PDF online so that way you can be ready. (You can also alternatively talk about regular black cats on this thread if you’d like, I don’t really mind.)

Well, I see GNTLGNT has left Pluto a bowl of friskies and us a bowl for dip. Thankee. I brought GNTLGNT some fresh baked cookies-- you all help yourself.
I must admit I found this story a difficult read. I am a critter caretaker and any harm that comes to one in a story ( Oh Steve how I have cussed you in some books !) brings distress.

This has over tones of The Tell Tale Heart, both narrators declaring a "madness." Here, it is alcohol -- and Poe was thought to suffer from that disease himself. Good plot twists between real and supernatural. The changing fur on the second cat/ Must admit did enjoy the ending. Never underestimate a cat.

Please add your thoughts.
