Yes, that white patch of fur was a nice touch, Being Poe wrote both stories , there is always a "touch" of something in the same concept.

Do you think the cat would have stayed quiet, behind the wall all that time?
Nah not a normal cat, but I think the point of the story was was it a normal cat and the narrator was just being paranoid, or was the cat a spirit coming to haunt him? Sort of like “William Wilson” ‘s theme

Thank you, do you think if the murder of his wife never happened he would’ve hung a whole generations worth of black cats? Maybe every time he killed one another noose-shaped tuft would be added, to the point where there would be a cat with the whole suicide forest mapped out on it!
