I've seen the DeFeo one, West Memphis three -- all of them, I think there are two or three docs on this bunch and I've watched The Horrors of Stephen King. The one I wish I could find is Headliners and Legends on Stephen King. I know I watched it when it first came out, but I can't ever run it down anywhere.

Nat. Geo. does some really nice docs. I especially like the ones on ancient Egypt.
Oh I love those ones! actually I just remembered this REALLY weird dream I had a couple of days ago about Nefertiti. You know of the queens of Egypt in pharaohs time. It came out of nowhere because I wasn't thinking about anything even related to it.
Anyway, in the beginning of the dream I was in this sort of class in the desert and they were teaching us how to draw mummies. We had ones in front of us and I was drawing. Then I was in a tent digging something up and I found a skull without a body. I screamed that it was Nefertiti's skull (I don't why) and I started putting it on my face -you know like a mask-
Suddenly, the entire setting changes into old times in Egypt and I see pyramids and people were running around. I saw some guards wearing these birds heads masks chasing nefertiti and her servants. They killed the servants but I saw her get away and paam it was over.

I woke up saying what the F***

I watched a doc here the other day called Hecklers. That made me take a closer look at myself.

Also watched some docs on Sex in the Ancient World -- one on Pompeii and the other on Egypt.

Also a doc on Caligula-1400 days of Terror.

The last couple docs I've watched are one on film critics and the other on Spaulding Gray.

For the Love of Movies and And Everything is Going Fine.

With the internet age and everyone's ability to be a critic and a blogger, it was a nostalgic look at the history of critics and how it is evolving into today's landscape of movies.

Spaulding Gray was just messed up. Again, I will reiterate, I think creative people are pretty fragile creatures. JMO. Especially the ones deemed geniuses in their field.

finally watched Forks over Knives the other day. It was interesting! Though I'm not willing to go full vegan (or even full vegetarian), there were ideas I liked, and it confirmed some of the good changes I noticed in my whole family when we stopped thinking about (and eating) meat as the center of every dinner.

Yay, other documentary lovers! This board has everything:biglove:
I watch a lot of them, especially now that I am unemployed. Today, I have watched one about Richard "Iceman" Kuklinski on YouTube. I have seen some before, but this one had interviews with his wife, and clips from home movies.
Yesterday, I watched one about a woman with type 1 diabetes, and her struggle to get pregnant.
And a week ago I watched Blackfish. And I cried.
In between I have watched some UFO stuff.
Feed me documentaries on any topic, as long as they are well made, I will watch.

I've heard SO much about BLACKFISH lately! Do you recommend it?

I've seen that one! That guy honest to God lived up to that name. He is so cold. But the interview was fascinating.

It's in my line-up to watch, but reluctant as i don't like purposely putting myself in a sad state of mind with animals. It puts me in a funk that feeds on itself.

It's an interesting conundrum, isn't it? Do we watch when there's not much we can do, just to get upset? Is that just emotional porn, then? Or do we become less informed when we don't watch?

I know this is sort of 'thinky', but that's what I am (lol). I wonder about stuff like that a lot.

The only time he shows any emotion, is when he talks about his family. I have been fascinated by the topic since I was quite young, probably because I have had to deal with so many psychopaths/sociopaths. I look for reasons, common denominators, ways to recognize them by behavior, etc.

It will make you sad, but in my opinion, it is one of the most important documentaries, ever.
I normally don't watch things that upset me, either, I get so heartbroken. But after watching the first 10 minutes, I knew I just had to watch the whole thing.

Edit:
@skimom: just saw your post now. But yes, I do.
