I still struggle almost every day with not having David in the world anymore. I listen to his music more often than anyone else's. I loved that man and his music, still.
And a documentary I mentioned above those Rock and Roll Guns for Hire talks about a guy that worked with David for years. Lots of footage of him. It was very bittersweet. I would recommend that one too.

kingricefan , I would also recommend that documentary to you, Rock and Roll Guns for Hire. Wendy and Lisa are featured in it too and there is some interesting discussion on Prince.

Hi Deej! If I have some time I will look that up. Time is very limited right now.

Hopefully in a good way!
Well, if having a to-be-read pile of books three feet high and a to-be-viewed pile of movies/series almost a foot high is good, then, yes, in a good way. :D I just can't seem to catch up on either pile anymore. Of course if I would just stop buying books and movies that would solve the problem but then I would go into withdrawl because I. simply. must. have. more. books. and. movies!!!

Flake have you heard this, it's a play about his final days in the studio recording Blackstar, it's really good,

This was very good but difficult to listen to. For me anyway. David had ideas for another album. Poof! gone. The ideas may come out through someone else, but it won't be David. It won't be the same.

That's the thing about dying that cuts me to the core. All the fun, wonderful, creative, innovative, original, movies, events, books, T.V., PEOPLE I will miss!

It's not about being gone, it's about what I'm going to miss out on. That's the tragedy. I hate it. I hate winding down.

Thanks for posting that Notaro.

Diana: Tragedy or Treason

There are some very weird things about her death. There really are.

And events surrounding the paparazzi guy driving that white Fiat that crashed into them in the tunnel is very interesting. He was found dead. It was ruled a suicide. He was found in the car with multiple gunshot wounds, no gun found and the car on fire. That's someone pretty damned determined to die. Takes all that time to shoot themselves numerous times, get out of the car and get rid of the gun, get back in the car and set it on fire. Any idiot can see the problem with all of that. . Of course, that could have been a Diana fan getting revenge on the guy for killing The People's Princess. It doesn't mean The Firm had the guy killed. But it sure as hell ain't suicide, Barney Fife.

The drunk driver and his bank account is intriguing.

I so wish the body guard could regain memories.

It's definitely a puffy cryey face thing.
I watched this last night.... [massive sigh] it was hard, really tough and for a couple reasons. 1) It always just makes it so fresh again when I immerse myself in anything David.
2) It was so tough because, even though they've done a good job, it still wasn't him. It wasn't his voice and some of those words were definitely not his.
Even though he shared a lot in interviews, he was still at the core of it all, a deeply private person... and I struggled a bit with the fact that they're openly talking about his illness when in reality, he didn't want it talked about.
Not just that they're talking about it, but making it appear that he is talking about it. This was the one thing that he didn't want out there, that was for close friends and family only.
One thing though had me laughing out loud and nodding and just took me right back. When he was saying that it's "Bowie, not bow-ee".... oh boy. Every time I hear someone say this wrong in media, on TV etc, I always correct it. That piece of the radio show just really tickled me.

I love that man and miss him so much.

I'm so glad to have heard this though, I need to keep hearing of him, no matter what the method. Thanks Notaro I appreciate you posting this.

I'm glad you got some enjoyment from listening to it Flake but I'm sorry it upset you, it wasn't my intention to do that , apologies to D.J. as well for any upset. Bowie was one of those people who seemed to be around as long as I have been listening to music. I have a cousin who put me on to his music in the late 70's and while I was a full on metal head I was attracted to the richness and diversity of his music. I was lucky enough to see him in concert in 1990 here in Dublin, amazing show. And his acting, I don't think a lot of people appreciate how good an actor he was, he was excellent in The Hunger and Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence, and his short film for Blue Jean is hilarious. Gone but immortal.
