Please no spoilers.
I am expecting to get the entire Dark Tower series (including the wind through the keyhole) as a Christmas gift in three months.
I know this is like a fantasy action but i'm afraid to google questions about the book, because i'm afraid about accidentally spoiling it for myself.

The only question I have is; does this take place on earth or is it like a song of ice and fie where it is in a whole other universe, where somehow the people know English?

Thanks a bunch.

It goes back and forth between our world and Mid-World. I don't want to tell you too much. Just read em.

I guess Scott's answer is good enough. Just finished the first chapter of the first book (I am about to start "The Way Station" later today), and having people remember Christ's name means this must have been an Earth once (or has people who come from an Earth).

It is like "The Stand". It happens on Earth. Obviously not ours, since we are still alive, but it is Earth.

I accidently discovered The Dark Tower when I saw Volume V on sale in a book store. (Seriously neglecting my reading while raising kids.) I read Wolves of the Calla, Volume V, and collected all the rest (I - Vii) reading all the rest. Turned out, I enjoyed each volume because I knew some of what was ahead. If you have read any King books, there is no wrong way to read them. Just enjoy!

Parallel universe.

The technology most likely advanced wildly differently and or much faster, also the existence of magic,

The Territories is similar as well, but it's clearly a separate world from Mid-World, but within the same multiverse.
