Had to wait for my wife to finish Doctor Sleep, But it was worth the wait. An avid fan since Carrie, i feel that this is one of his best works. (I am up to page393.)
However, being what most people refer to as a gun nut, there are a couple of points I'd like to raise:
1. (And this may be a character mistake) On page 336 Billy refers to his pistol as a "One-nine-one-one Colt. Full auto." The 1911 Colt is usually referred to as a "Nineteen eleven" and is a single action semi automatic.
2. On page 353 and others, and this could be a publisher's error, a pistol is called a Glock .22. As far as I am aware Glock do not make a .22 calibre pistol, which would be an ineffective combat weapon. The pistol in question would probably be a Glock 22 (No decimal point), a .40 S&W calibre weapon.
3. On page 354, Dan is said to "flick off the Glock safety with his thumb." Glocks do not have a safety lever. The safety is internal and is deactivated by trigger pressure.
I hope I have not been too pedantic for my first post. I look forward to finishing the book (and probably rereading it.)
