Since I'm not the only Whovian, I figured I'd start a thread. With the fiftieth coming up THIS MONTH we should have lots to discuss.

~~~~~
Space has been showing Dr. Who all day Sundays. They started with the ninth, and are going to the end. On Saturdays, they are showing a special on each doctor. I've recorded everything, and have seen the first 2 1/2 years (rewatching actually) and the specials on the first three doctors. I don't think I would have enjoyed the third doctor as much.
In the states we have to wait til the Thanksgiving special for the next new episode. On November 23, 2013, “Doctor Who” will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary with a seventy-five-minute, 3-D special called “The Day of the Doctor,” which BBC Worldwide is billing as a “global simulcast,” meaning that it will be seen at the same time in almost eighty countries—a new frontier in the history of television.
My fav Doctor is Tom Baker #4. Been watching tis series forever!!
Excellent! A Doctor Who thread!
Was able to buy some tickets to the 3D movie-theater experience later this month before they sold out. Cannot wait! I agree with Ms. Mod about missing Tennant; he was such a great Doctor, and his skills as an actor, in general, are top notch. I'm partial to the 5th Doctor (Peter Davison) myself. Been watching DW going on twenty-five years now.
I love Dr Who !!! I am a fan of Nu Who and Old Who. My favourite Doctor is Sylvester McCoy, and I hope Peter Capaldi is gonna bring back that Dark, Manipulative edge, of a man who has seen too many bad things to be as bright and happy as he has been portrayed sometimes.
(For what it is, Matt Smith is a very good Doctor, and I enjoy most of his episodes, but he is not my preferred type of Doctor.)
I think Capaldi could do dark very well.
I've never seen a Doctor I didn't like. I just like some more then others...with Eccleston at the top of my list.
The day the new doctor was announced, I was babysitting my grandson who was about 10 months old at the time. As soon as the name was announced, he stood up started clapping. I guess he approves. :D
OK, I know he clapped because he heard clapping...but it's still proof he's a Whovian.
I was surprised my son didn't want to see it in 3D.
We may end up having a small party at the house. His friend no-longer gets the station it's on, so she has a standing invite for Dr. Who shows.
Maybe I'll make all Who food. ::P
Well, my son's friend not only decided to let my son know she's coming....but she's invited friends.
She let him know she's bringing food. (I'll assume Whovian.). However, this girl loves nuts. I don't object to her bringing " may contain" stuff. I can just keep that away from my food, but a bunch of excited teen strangers eating food that can kill me in my own home....not gonna happen.
I told him to tell her to bring bananas. And jelly babies. (Jelly beans will suffice.)
I'm planning to make Adipose, blue cupcakes or Dalek cupcakes, maybe fish fingers and custard. (My concern is the custard could be messy.) I'm sure I 'll come up with more ideas.
We no longer get BBC America, and the closest theater showing the 50th is showing it two days later. I'm hoping it livestreams in the internet :) If not, I guess we'll be staying offline for a couple of days.
My two youngest kids went to our library's "Madman in a Blue Box" party last Thursday & made cute River Song and Doctor #10. I think that's their planned attire for the show :)
I enjoy watching Dr Who also and my favourite Dr is a toss up between Tennant and Smith, didn't really like Eccleston and haven't seen enough of the old episodes to see what the others were like. Can't wait for the the 50th episode to see how they all fit together and then roll on to the new Dr, just hope people give him a chance because I have a feeling he is going to very different from the last two.
So, what did everyone think of the 50th?
We had a house full of people and a table full of Whovian food. Great fun had by all. Totally confused a kid that was here, who i've never met. When he came in, I introduced him by name to someone else. His jaw dropped and he asked how I knew his name....and I replied we had met before in the future! it 's all timey-wimey. And from there...things just got better.
