No, after I couldn't finish or get into Talisman, I kinda "gave up".... I know I need to be more open-minded!
Oh, I get it. I misread and thought you were saying that The Talisman was the only book you had not read by SK; but I see that it is the only one you have started and not finished. Sorry about that.

This happened to me too. I could feel when it wasn't Steve (at least I think that's what bothered me about it) because when Steve writes there's a different flow than the other author. I'm just so used to Steve, (I've been reading him for 33 years) I notice immediately when something is off.

Oh I forgot, Needful Things. The story and the movie was good. I loved the cover on the original book I purchased. Made me want to climb into the drawing and take a peek inside the shop window.

Peter Straub is a great author too, though! Might I recommend Ghost Story or If You Could See Me Now?

was there a movie made out of Ghost Story? One with Fred Astaire? Oh I hope it's the same one. I would read that story on paperback.
Yessum. I've never seen the film but have heard they had to leave a lot out due to time constraints/the novel being so complex in structure. It's probably in the top ten scariest books I've ever read! Highly recommended! If you like 'Salem's Lot by Sai King I think you'll enjoy Ghost Story-- the two are very similar, IMO.
