The main problem with that is that King hadn't come up with the "19" concept at the time -- wouldn't for another 20 years.
I think "19" has been brewing in his head for a while. Even Roadwork, an early Bachman novel, alludes 19, with Highway 478 (4+7+8= 19) being built through Bart's neighborhood.
Blue car syndrome. You can pick any author's work and find nineteens in it if you try hard enough. 19 has a very definite and obvious origin.
11/22/63 strongly references another classic... It!
I am not sure Dr. Sleep really had any direct DT connections. Other than room 217 from The Shining is mentioned.. and you know... 2 +17= 19. Dark Tower School of Higher Mathematics.
So, you have one name in your user ID which contains six letters (1 + 6 = 7!) with two numbers in it (9 - 2 = 7!). So, what you're really saying is that you have a friend who's obsessed with the number 7? Uh huh, right.......OOH...excellent catch on the 478. I have a friend who's obsessive compulsive and everything needs to equal 7. May be the same type of thing.
I've just finished DUMA again, and wondered if the repeated mention of roses and the picture of the red caped figure (yes, I realize that it's the creature that inhabits the doll, bu that was mighty Crimson King-like imagery--I immediately thought of the picture in the Grant hardback of DT VII) might have faint whisper of the Tower behind them.
Hadn't thought about Duma....there's also the connect to art. Painting things into being being in Duma and erasing them from reality in DT.
Yup. Elizabeth tried to erase things from reality in DUMA, too, and Edgar actually did it. Maybe it's a place where the veil between worlds is thin...
