This is great news! But who decided to release It after Christmas? That is a mistake as it's after Christmas since they could have sold a gazillion copies for presents under the tree!!
It's all marketing- they WILL release the Director's cut at a later date. Trust me. Just like they did with the Lord Of The Ring's movies- first we had theatrical versions then came the extended cuts with the added deleted scenes. $$$$Yeah, I'm surprised by that too. I would have to think there's some reason they can't get the physical copies made in time, because obviously they will have the content ready before Christmas since the digital version will be released.
If I'm parsing the linked article correctly, this version will have the deleted scenes but they will be extra features (as opposed to being interwoven into an extended cut of the movie). That's a little disappointing, but I'm glad we're getting them at all. I would've loved this movie if it had been 3 hours or longer.
We're planning on upgrading to a 4K TV soon, so looks like I'll be purchasing the 4K version. Can't wait to see Pennywise in ultra HD.

Not a bad chunk of change, eh? I hope all of those kids in the cast are given nice Christmas bonuses!!!!I'm holding out for the Director's Cut.
And on another note: I know everyone's probably fed-up of me posting the Box Office Mojo links, but even though the film is on its way out of theatres, IT is STILL making money!
As of yesterday (13/11), our clown-busting Losers have racked up a worldwide gross of $683,462,390.
Congratulations again to the cast and crew of this absolute gem of a movie. I hope I live long enough to see the horror film that tops this.
