Some time ago i read an interesting epigraph in one of Stephen King’s novels, I can’t seem to find anything about it online.

It was darkly written, and was basically saying wouldn’t it be interesting if the people behind the Scenes wrote about what they’d seen, like the people who were responsible for cleaning up after Jonestown, the stench, The mess, etc.

Anyone familiar?

Was it maybe about the short story Cargo, by E. Michael Lewis? It is in the collection Flight or Fright, which was edited by SK and Bev Vincent.

I read the epigraph to the story and it does not mention Jonestown but that is what the story is about. Bringing people back home from Jonestown in the cargo hold of a plane.

No the epigraph was basically stating the stories behind the stories are the most important ones and the ones we never hear, it also mentioned death camps. I lost my literary collection in a separation () and I have been trying to figure this epigraph out, it’s definitely the beginning of one of SKs books, epigraph is on the longer side.

It's from the beginning of Pet Sematary. There are two parts to it:

Here are some people who have written books, telling what they did and why they did those things: {followed by a list of names}

Here are some people who have not written books, telling what they did. . . and what they saw: {followed by another list, including "The two-score undertakers who cleaned up Jonestown, carrying body bags, spearing paper cups with those spikes custodians carry in city parks, waving away the flies." }
