Hello Everyone,

I am new to this board but not new to the works of SK.

For years, I have found little character quirks in SK's stories that stay with me long after I've closed the book. For example, for months after finishing The Talisman, I would finish my sentences by screaming, "Wolf!" (Yes, everyone thought I was quite the loon.) Of course, for those of you in the know, that is what Jack Sawyer's friend Wolf always said.

One day, I was baking cookies and got distracted by a phone call. When the burning smell grabbed by attention, I dropped the phone and came running only to find my cookies more closely resembled meteorites. I stood there shaking my and and said, "Done bun can't be undone." -- thank you so very much Ralph Roberts (Insomnia) for that accurate assessment, now get out of my head!

So, I am interested in knowing if anyone else is haunted by SK's characters. What quirks do you remember? What do they say to you?

The other day, I worked up quite the appetite and said out loud, "I'm so hongry!" I knew that way of saying hungry came from the Dark Tower, but I can't remember where. So, I need some help here. I am trying to remember the character that had that unusual way of saying hungry. I think it may be from the Wolves of the Calla but it might be Song of Suzanna too. Anyway, Roland came upon a house or a shack in a very wilderness-like place. He's was drawn there and inside there's a voice that says it's "hongry." Book/Chapter anyone?

This has been driving me nuts! I've been searching for days to figure out what SK character said "hongry". And like a dog that won't let go of a bone, heh, heh, heh...I got it! ;-) It was Mordred Deschain, Roland's evil werespider son. He spanned several books and when he was hungry, he said "Mordrid's a-hongry." Which reminds me, it's time to log off and go fix dinner.
