Oh y'all! Everything sounds so yummy. Doc Creed - that cake! skimom2 - COOKIES!

I've stocked the house well with plenty of Christmas snacks: summer sausage, cheese, nuts, shrimp, Christmas punch - for the week the kids are out but we're still working. That seems to be my tradition. I wish I'd had time to make Chex Mix, but, meh.

We do an Italian Christmas Eve meal - ravioli (homemade by some tiny elderly Italian women), Italian spinach (my specialty), salad, rolls, tiramisu.

Christmas Day it's Chinese take out in honor of A Christmas Story and a day in bed watching Christmas movies.

I'm still wishing for ramekins and a blow torch for Christmas - I'd like to make creme brulee for everyone.

I've been known to go to a movie on Christmas Day and grab Chinese food afterward but it's not really tradition. Man, that food sounds terrific. I want your life; mine is dull by comparison, lol.
How do you prepare your shrimp?

Creme Brûlée is my absolute favorite dessert :)

We have dinner at the MIL's Christmas Eve, then Christmas at my brother's house on Christmas day. We've done Christmas dinner at ours for the last few years, but he wanted a chance to have a holiday in his new house, so there you are. The kids are already complaining about having to put on pants that day--lol! They've gotten used to lazing around all day, eating and watching movies. I'm sort of dreading the week between Christmas and New Years--our kids will all be home and will likely eat me out of house and home!

Here's how I do the shrimp: frozen ring from Wal-Mart, $7.98. Thaw in fridge. I do kick it up a notch by purchasing extra cocktail sauce. I'm the lazy kind of scullery maid. ;;D

Oh gosh! I can so relate. I go to the Chinese food place in my fleece jammie pants and a sweat shirt. I do get bra'd up for the occasion. The Ogre and kids don't get dressed or leave the house.

Do you go to Midnight Mass? We do. 4pm Christmas Eve is too crowded. 10am Christmas Day is out of the question.

My father used to buy a leg of ham and wrap it up in a damp cloth and put in the refrigerator but you get sick of eating ham all the time. Because it's usually hot here during Christmas, I like to have some cold cut meat selections( devon, sliced ham, chicken loaf, brawn) and on the side you have canned beetroot, some cheese, tomato, lettuce and potato salad from a can. I might buy some Christmas pudding. I like Chinese like seafood combination with rice. Hot food should be avoided in my opinion even though people still like to have their barbecues and watch the cricket after the meal with a few cold ones.

So this morning I walked into work to find a nicely wrapped box from one of the local dentists that we refer to. Every year we look forward to this because it contains an assortment of whoopie pies from Wicked Whoopie which are pretty much the best things ever. Our little office gathers round to bask in its glory as it's being opened(and to also grab our favorite pie) the anticipation builds....here they come....except...what is this? A children's board game?? About the tooth fairy???? NOOOOOO
