I am curious about everyone's favorite "horror" show. As i knew my favorite when i was a kid and when i was in my teenagers and in my 20s, as coincidentally it changed every time in those 10 years, but i am having a tough time deciding right now. I haven't voted yet because i am still debating haha.

By the way, i know i will forget some so please post. And some may not be considered "horror" by others' standards

That's a hard list. I like most of them. I don't know that I could choose.

Never watched Xfiles. Are you Afraid of the Dark was lame (JMO).

Are you Afraid of the Dark brought back childhood memories and is technically a "horror" which is why i put it on the list (as I was born in 89 so i wasn't "old enough" to watch some of the other shows at the time haha)

No, I hear ya. We all have our sentimental favorites, ones we thought were fabulous when others might not think so.

It's tough for me to vote as I keep changing on a monthly basis between Twilight Zone and Tales From the Crypt. I have seen both series too many times to count. And one was a favorite in my teenage years and the other a favorite in my 20s

Tales From the Crypt was one of my all time favorites. I own all the seasons and I've watched them a couple since then. For some reason, they don't have that same magic for me now. But back then? I couldn't wait for the next group of stories!

Night Gallery gave me my start into the world of "horror". I have found memories of watching it with my Mom when I was little.
Other favorites include
The Twilight Zone
Tales from the Crypt
Tales from the Dark Side

Some of the ones I watched as a kid were,

Hammer House of Horror
Kolchak: The Night Stalker
Supernatural
Tales of the Unexpected

From the list,

X - Files
Twilight Zone

I gave up on The Walking Dead, just thought it was getting too repetitive .

The Walking Dead has massively improved this season, but I was on the verge of ignoring it while my husband watched.

My favourite is Buffy the Vampire Slayer - although I'm not sure everyone would count that as horror. It's a combination of horror, action, comedy and drama.

From these choices here The X-files would be my favourite. I would say X-files and Twilight Zone could also be seen as science-fiction shows - especially with X-files there is a lot of science involved, as Scully is always trying to find a scientific explanation for strange events.
With Twilight Zone it kind of depends on the episode, but from what I remember it's seldom full-out horror. It's more suspenseful.

There was a show that ran from 1996-1999 called "Millennium", starring Lance Henriksen. I'm not sure it would qualify as straight up horror, but it had several elements of horror embedded in the whole undertow of the show. It was created and produced by Chris Carter, the same guy who did X-Files but this show was much darker. Before Justified came along, this was my favorite television series of all time and it's still very good. I have the three season DVD set and every once in a while I'll watch a couple of episodes and they're still very good.

Dana Jean Have you ever watched this show? I think you'd love it.
