Sgt Phil Esterhaus,portrayed by Michael Conrad..am thinking this was a shock to the cast as well when he passed away..favorite desk sergeant,knowledgeable,strong,tough,and with a vocabulary like a Harvard graduate..

Dang don't check for a little while and my answer gets Googled?

I knew who he was of course. He got kinda dumped from show about the same time Fonzie started wearing a leather jacket. First couple of years the Fonz was wearing the light colored jacket in pic.

Is it sad I remember this from the beginning? Again we only had three channels so I recall a lot of what we watched.

Also if you want to talk Hee Haw or the Lawrence Welk show trivia I got that too.
