For me, it's got to be yer old pal Gasher. I think it's mostly the way he talks, 'young squint', 'trig cove' and 'dear heart'. Combined with his lethal brutish nature, I kept telling him to leave Jake alone, and I think you've got one of the most terrible, memorable characters in the series.

Would love to know what others think is their favourite character.

I may get kicked off for this, but my LEAST favorite was...Stephen King. That's where the Element of Silly entered the picture, and hung about in the eaves for the rest of the tale, threatening to burst on stage at any moment. Thankfully, he mostly didn't.

Walter --- I still don't exactly know who the heck he is.
Calvin Tower --- only in Waste Lands. He was a bit of a whiny bunny rabbit later on.
Gasher --- waaaay more frightening, and fleshed out, than Ticky. (Fleshed out - see what I did there?)
Jonas --- also a rather frightening fellow, although clearly no match for the Roland we know he will become.
Cuthbert --- not a member of THE Ka-tet, so I'm not cheating. Ha.

Its surprising how much I can't remember the secondary characters. I can vaguely remember some of their traits but hardly any names.

Sheemie and Ted broughtigan were good characters, and I like most of the calla folk but again, can't remember any of their names.

I can't believe I forgot Sheemie. The western version of Tom Cullen. Laws, yes.

I really liked the whole River Crossing population, Mercy, Bill and Till, Aunt Talitha, etc. They're sort of like the last "hanging on" group of normal respectable people that you see.
???- The good little sister of Eluria - Tragic all the way (yeah I know that's reaching out of bounds a bit)
Alice - How can you not sympathize with her character? Especially after Walter dooms her.
Old Double Ugly - Jack Andolini -King did a better job making that character "real" to me than Balazar.
Nigel - Especially after Andy you want to really dislike him but, he's a decent little english robot butler.
Farson/Walter/Marten/RF/Etc. - How epic is that character?
And, of course, Stuttering Bill - You know why, and because that's the last kind "soul" between Roland and the end.
