A few of my favourites are:

From Wizard and Glass - taking a peek at where Roland has come from. I especially loved the bit where all the fathers were talking to their kids before they set off.

Just why was Alain's Dad called "Burning" Chris is one of the things that makes me wish there was
a prequel to Roland's adventures.

The ambush where Roland, Cuthbert and Alain coordinated the attack. I would LOVE to see that as an action scene.

"Who sent you West Maggot?"

Roland besting Cort.

From the Wastelands - i believe where Roland was teaching Eddie and telling him to recite the Gunslingr's lesson. "I kill with my heart **********er".

Can't think of anything else for now....

SPOILER ALERT, friends. Passage from the end of the Dark Tower VII.
It's truncated for time and space. It brings tears of grief every time. Every. Time.

"The gunslinger...went to the tree, where the last of his ka-tet hung, impaled...but still alive....'Oy, we all say thank you. I say thank you, Oy.'
The bumbler did not bite, and spoke but one word. 'Oland,' said he. Then he sighed, locked the gunslinger's hand a single time, hung his head down, and died."......
"Here was another one he had killed, and if there was consolation, it was this: On would be the last....'I only kill my family,'Roland thought, stroking the dead billy-bumbler.
What hurt most was remembering how unpleasantly he had spoken to Oy the day before. If'ee wanted to go with her, thee should have gone when. Thee had that chance.
Had he stayed because he knew that Roland would need him?...because he had known it was his last day and his dying would be hard?
"I think you knew both things," Roland said, and closed his eyes so he could feel the fur beneath his hands better. "I'm so sorry I spoke to'ee so--would give the fingers on my good left hand if I could take the words back. So I would, every one, say true."

I am coming to the end of Dark Tower VII - so I can't read your spoiler yet taylor29 but I found two Kingisms I love recently :
"Not such of a much" which I remember from Joyland.
and
"always con yer vantage" - which I just read last night - words of our beloved teacher Cort.
I would love to read more about Cort and the adventures of training all those gunslingers. But mayhap I'll find such when I get to Wind Through the Keyhole.

wishing you all long days and pleasant nights....

So many that I can't list them. One of my favorites is the section is chap 10 of W&G (my favorite of the DT books) where Roland and Susan make love for the first time. It's beautifully written, without coming out silly or clinical. Not easy to do.

My favorite action literature of all time is found in The Stand, from the moment the protagonists on the bikes meet the trailer across the road to when they're shown walking through the field, inclusive. It's perfectly written, exciting, graphic, descriptive action. Ideal.

Here's a couple: Hunger is the piston of art...and a bit later: Start with what you know, then re-invent it. There's a pile of 'em...seemed like a good idea at the time. The 1st two are from Duma Key and I can't tell you where the last one is located but I've been down that road before.

I really loved the Wizard and Glass and then Wind. I like learning about Roland's youth. We never get much about Jamie, even in Wind. Also, I always wanted to hear about Jericho Hill in depth. I was so hoping King would do another Dark Tower book or an offshoot. I don't know that he ever will.

Anybody heard if he's ever said he would?

He's left it open to the possibility.
