I've always found this show slightly harder to follow than the main show somehow. I don't know whether it's the writing or the more indistinct characters (I don't dislike the characters, but they lack the outspoken personalities of some of the favourite characters of the main show). I tend to forget often what happened to characters on the show. Also it seems things don't pay off well in terms of story telling: in the first season there was something to do with a light signalling from a house, and I'm still not sure what that was about.

To make matters worse, I'm at the second half of the third season now, and AMC who broadcasts it here doesn't supply subtitles for several episodes, by mistake most likely. Not the regular subtitles that translate from English to Dutch, but not even the Spanish spoken parts are translated. I do understand Spanish slightly, but not enough. And also the English is often partly unintelligible - it's rather soft - the problem with films and series is often that dialogue is much softer in sound than music and soundeffects, that's why I always prefer subtitles.

I still want to make it to the fourth season, because of the role of Maggie Grace (I always liked her a lot on Lost and the other things she did), but it's not simple this way. I think for at least four episodes or so subtitles are missing. There are still episode summaries you can read afterwards of course.

Actually what I do like a lot on the show is the locations and cinematography: the panoramas of the landscapes look quite beautiful and filmic.

Also, if Morgan is coming to this show at the beginning of Season 4 is that before or after his timeline on the main show? Because I thought the whole idea of Fear the Walking Dead is that it's supposed to be shortly after the dead started rising, and much earlier than the main show, so it seems impossible it's Morgan's timeline AFTER he leaves the main show.

I wonder: for American or English speaking people, is it difficult to hear what the actors are saying? Just about every other sentence I can't understand. It's like they talk too fast, too soft, or in short sentences with words missing sometimes, or something like that. I don't understand why, but without subtitles I find it almost impossible to understand.

I just had an episode with subtitles, which was easy to follow. And now I'm back to an episode that doesn't. AMC is kind of a strange channel here anyway, it's essentially aimed for the Netherlands, subtitled and with Dutch voices announcing programs. But then trailers for shows are missing subtitles, and now subtitles are also missing for the show itself.

Morgan is in it from the start of Season 4 I think, but I don't know how his storyline fits in with the main show.

I think the problem with Fear the Walking Dead is that the characters just aren't overly interesting. It was only in the third season that the main show became really interesting, the second season was quite slow and uneventful, but in the third season it was mainly due to Michonne's and The Governor's introduction that it became real good.
On Fear the Walking Dead I keep forgetting what happened to characters, and that's probably because what happened wasn't all that special. Victor Strand comes in and goes off the show all the time, and I find it hard to keep track of what he's doing and why. And at the beginning of the third season a main character simply falls out of a chopper and you expect there's more to it, but it seems that's just it: he dropped out of the chopper, because the actor apparently wanted to leave the show, I guess.
Despite many more characters over all the seasons of the main show, I never found it hard to follow.

Anyway, it seems I now have subtitles for the remaining episodes. For some reason AMC broadcasts it both with and without subtitles. Maybe it is broadcast so quickly after it airs in the US that subtitles aren't ready yet for the first broadcast, but that's just a guess.

I watched the first half of Season 4 (8 episodes). The addition of Morgan (Lennie James) is certainly an improvement, and I like the new characters by Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman. But I can think of few other shows that have killed their main cast off so quickly.
