Alas, once again, apparently I didn’t win anything in one of these book sweepstakes. Looks like a stop at Target is in order on the way home tomorrow... just like all the other peasants. :(:)
Yeah, I didn't want to burst your bubble when I saw the email with the list of winners. I don't have a signed copy yet either if that helps you feel any better. :smile2:

Sometimes a Wally here jumps the gun and puts the book out the night before release date. I have to get pet food and laundry supplies today, so here's hoping their stocker has it out already (lol).
Might be a bit of a drive to Indiana but we've heard a couple there started over the weekend. Scribner is working on remedying that, though.

Getting one early doesn’t really help me LOL. My wife says I have to pick it up tomorrow so she has it in hand, but she is going to save it until our vacation at the end of July to read it. And I can’t read it first because the traditional “breaking of the spine” is reserved for her, under penalty of death. :)

Admittedly my chances of getting one are significantly higher but I won't tell you to rub it in if/when I do.

I used to stock books, and it's a big 'no-no' to stock early. I knew people who did it, though, through ignorance (they claimed) or laziness. Some stores had really small storerooms, too, and urged us to just get the darn boxes out of there.

You are a nice husband :) My husband isn't a big reader, but we do that for shows we both watch--make the pledge to hold off until we can watch together.

I suspect that's what happens most of the time when they go out early and not quite as big a deal when it's just a day or two ahead of pub date.
