For those who are still upset about the changes that will be made I have a question. If Stephen published a book that took up where book 7 left off, one in which Roland has changed physically from who he was before and was on a new quest toward the Tower, would you read it? It wouldn't be the same story as you read the first time around, things would obviously be changed and new characters would undoubtedly be introduced. If you stop thinking of this as an exact adaptation (when has that ever happened?) of the books that have been published and think of it as a new level of the tower would you still be as upset?

You don't need to ask me twice msmod- I've advanced my copy since TWTTK -

Biggest worry for me- another World War Z

Did anyone read the book, and think 'wow- this would make an awesome movie' and then they make a movie! And your like, 'wow I can't believe they are making a movie of World war z!'
And then you queue for tickets, and are pleased to be sat in front of the big screen without even seeing one of these gawd awful trailers that give everything away.

Then you watch the movie.

"What the hell!" You cry. "This isn't the story I read last year- hell it doesn't even have one scene from the book max brooks wrote...not one!" And that's why you went- to see the book brought to life. Not a prequel, not a sequel . Hell not even an interpretation. It said world war z. Not based on World war Z!

Hell, there wasn't even a mention to the battle of Yonkers!

Now this is the worry I have for DT. And it is a real big worry. Maybe it should be named the dark tower: The next chapter, like Friday the 13th when it went all stoopid.

I have been waiting too long to be disappointed, so I am on the fence now with the YAY camp and the NAY camp. If I want to see a 'what next' I'll stick with my version that lies gathering dust, in a box, under my bed.

:hmm:

I haven't seen that. Are you excited about the Ab Fab film? They kill Kate Moss lol
I've been waiting for the movie for months! I doubt it will play in any theaters here in the States though. So, it'll be a dvd release and then I can watch it over and over and over......

I can't wait for this to flop. In hopes that another studio pics it up down the line and sticks to the characters and story line.

Really?

Give it a go at least, maybe this is the only way SK is going to deal with closure of long tall and ugly to finally shut the mouths of the people pestering him to change
Roland's painful non ending eternity of torture
. "Please sir, can I have some more" You want more...okay then? But here's the catch, you can watch it, I don't have another 30 years to invest in it.

I'm slowly training my brain to focus on the next quest, the 'Return to Oz' adventure, but will listen closely to the grapevine.

Thanks! I have Five Go Mad on dvd. It's a strange show......
Like I said before they're a bit dated, but well worth a watch. It's when alternative comedy had just started. Absolutely loads of, now, famous British comedians in there. Rik Mayall, Ade Edmudson, Jen Saunders, Dawn French, Lenny Henry, Robbie Coltrane Nigel Planer, Alexi Sayle, Keith Allen , to name just a few. Rik and Ade were brilliant at slapstick. The Yob with Keith Allen was my favourite. And The Strike. Anybody fancy some sullying?

I am Roland, son of Steven, son of Henry, true descendant of Arthur. And I have not forgotten. #TheDarkTowerMovie

....putting all the angst aside, and also-I still believe Roland is Caucasian-can you imagine the pressure Elba is feeling to pull this off?......
