Anyone else break out their old VHS copy of Creepshow and watch the opening segment? I try to watch "Father's Day" every year on the actual day. Did so earlier today.

Great tale, and I love the estate featured in it.

One comment: I seem to be misremembering something. When the Grantham corpse drops the heavy monument on Cass's husband, I always thought it pulled its arms toward its body; I didn't notice that when I watched this time around. Was that something seen in a different version of the movie, maybe a television cut? I probably am just mistaken.

I don't remember, but tried to look it up. I found out (and you all probably know this)
that Joe (Hill) King played young Billy. cool.

The marble ashtray that is used as the murder weapon that was used to kill Grantham appears in the other stories in creepshow...if you look in the third episode "Something to tide you over", when Leslie nielson is lying on his bed near the end, you see the marble ashtray on his desk beside his bed....and the ashtray appears in the final episode "There creeping up on you" its on the sink when the man is washing his hands...its interesting why they would put that the ashtray in a few stories

The ashtray is in every story.
