Hi to everyone!

I've been an admirer of Stephen King's books since 1989, had read almost all of his romances and short stories - for me his short stories and "novellas" are the best!

First time here in this message board - I've just signed in yesterday.

I'm a filmmaker, since 2003 I want to adapt a short story of his as a short movie. I looked at the short stories listed at Dollar Baby, but the short story I want to adapt is not listed there. How should I proceed to see if I could get King's permission for such?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Board!

If it's not on the list, then it's not available as a dollar baby. Did you want to option it as a dollar baby or as a commercial film?

Thanks for replying to my post!

It's not a commercial film - it's a short movie, intended only for screenings in film festivals. I wouldn't explore it commercially nor would put it online for viewing. I guess that, if it is not listed as Dollar Baby Films, still I could come to some agreement with King's agents. I only need to know where to find the right contacts for this purpose.

I'm afraid not. The only stories available are those that are on the list.

...."all of his romances"?.......:umm:

had read almost all of his romances and short stories

Maybe he is confusing the words romance and "romans" (I think the word roman means novel) - the OP doesn't list where they're from so just guessing.

In Google translate French to English that is how it comes up.
