OK guys these posts on mayo must stop immediately.

To begin my first wife, again still married to her just like to irritate, has banned it from my immediate diet.

Second someone mentioned eating just tomato and mayo on a sandwich because times were tough. When we had tomatoes those WERE the good times. In my youth I had to eat several mayonnaise sandwiches. At least we always had pinto beans and taters.

Thirdly Duke's mayonnaise is based in Greenville SOUTH CAROLINA.

Us Tarheels cannot take credit for that food stuff. We can claim however to have given the world everything from Pepsi to Texas Pete(yeah that is right) to Hardees to Bojangles to Golden Corral to the best of them all Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Not to mention a really fine college basketball team. (Not the one in Durham either)

No wonder I had a 100% blockage.

(Not really said it was hereditary)
I have eaten many mayo sandwiches as a kid.

Vegenaise people, yummy!

That was me on the "times were tough" quote,I guess I didn't put it quite right,I was meaning that it was not easy to put meat together with a sandwich like it is today.Had ketchup/mustard sandwiches too,we always were able to have bread at least..Yeah,my mom's homemade bread with a sliced tomato and a little mayo,awesome.. had lots of garden lettuce sandwiches as well, the best veggies are the fresh ones from your own garden..:grinning:

Times were often tough for us, too......we just didn't know it when we were kids.
I ate tomato sandwiches with mayo because I liked them.....there's still something comforting about a homegrown tomato sandwich.
One of my favorite meals was meatloaf, fried taters, and pinto beans. Sometimes, I still call my Mom and request this meal.
Sometimes, we would cook fresh green beans from the garden, toss in some diced tomatoes, and a dollop of mayo......mmmmm, good eats.
I prefer Coke, but love Krispy Kreme.......and the Tar Heels have been my beloved team of choice since I was a wee tot.

Speaking of times were tough---- ketchup with hot water made a delightful tomato soup.

All I have to say is I am so glad I am not all of you! I love mushrooms, coconut, asparagus, beets, mayo, ketchup, rice pudding, applesauce, cheese, curry, etc. In fact, other than very "bizarre" things (like bugs, though I know they are not considered bizarre in some countries) there's not much I have an aversion to. Bring it on!

I've eaten fried crickets. They were all right. Done raw eggs before. Not my favorite, but edible. Or slimeable. Eating internal organs doesn't bother me. Chitlins, menudo, whatever. I was kinda put off by the pig's head in the Guadalajara market, but pretty much because of the flies that its defleshed state was attracting.

Speaking of flies, I grabbed a handful of raisins once out of the box, started munching, something wasn't right in my mouth, and it turned out there was a maggot in there. That one, no, I didn't eat. In fact, I may have just thrown the rest of the box away.

Tuna Melts... Smelly canned tuna, mayonnaise, melted cheese, and bread. WTF

What deranged mind came up with that unholy concoction?

When I was a kid growing up, one of our favorite meals was a Pudgy Pie consisting of two slices of white bread, buttered on the outside (away from the meat and cheese), filled with tuna fish and rat trap cheese, and toasted in our handy dandy Pudgy Pie Maker.

Sorry you had to go through such trauma at an impressionable age. ;):)

Charles Dickens: Please, sir, I’d like a martini.
Bartender: Sure thing. Olive or twist?
