All of my favorite pro teams may be hot garbage this year, but at least the Alabama Crimson Tide are doing things right on the college level. Their worst game of the year so far was when they only beat Arkansas 65-31. It's weird having a QB that's more than a "game manager." Tua Tagovailoa has got to be the frontrunner for the Heisman. He's a beast and I hope his knee is getting better because LSU is coming up on November 3rd and that should be a tough one. Tua might actually have to playing into the 4th quarter for that game.

Titans, people.

I had to admire the death-or-glory play at the end of the game on Sunday, even though had I been head coach I'd have taken the extra point and gambled on OT. It made a change to see a really close Wembley game, even though it looked more or less done by HT (and definitely not long after the start of the 3rd quarter).

But yeah, I can't remember the last time the Niners didn't basically suck (oh, for the late 80s!), but at least the Chiefs scalped (skinned?) the Bengals so my gf couldn't go rubbing my face in it.

Alabama's game against LSU on Saturday was the toughest of the year and they still won 29-0. Tua actually played into the 4th quarter for the first time all season. He even threw his first interception of the season... you know, only nine games into the season and this is his first one. Alabama just has to wrap up the regular season and then play Georgia in the SEC Championship game. That's going to be a good one.

I know Alabama catches flak for their luck in the polls. It's twice now in ten years that Alabama didn't make the conference game but then ended up winning the national championship... against teams from their own conference. But this year looks to be the year they might just go undefeated and hush the naysayers for a while.

I was impressed by Bama's performance on Defense. The defense is pretty young and they pretty much shut down LSU's offense completely. I think Georgia vs. Alabama may be the real championship game. Georgia's run game is the most solid running attack 'Bama has seen so it should be a real test for their defense. Looking very forward to that rematch.
In lighter news, LSU is probably pretty irked about their defeat so what better place to come take out your frustrations than on my Razorbacks this next weekend......lol

That was some real good football on Monday Night. I really wouldn't mind seeing another Rams-Chiefs game for the Super Bowl. Of course, Drew Brees and the Saints are on fire right now and easily dismantled the defending champs on Sunday. Saints might have a say in who represents the NFC in the Super Bowl because if there's any team that can put up points against LA its the Saints.

Regardless of how the rest of the NFL season goes, Alabama remains the kings of college football and all is right with the sports world. Alabama had a weird game Saturday in that the were tied at the half 10-10 with the lowly Citadel. A talented triple option offense seems to be the Tide's biggest weakness, but there aren't many of those around these days and Alabama quickly overcame their struggles after the first half and finished the game 50-17.

I'm excited for the Iron Bowl this weekend. :)

Patriots perpetually play putridly on the road.

Normally, I would look forward to a game against the Jets. However, BrodyDog could probably play better D than the Pats right now.

Brady isn't looking to good right now either. Gronk is hurt.

I'm sure 99% of NFL fans are happy that the Pats run is winding down.

The Saints finally have a decent defense which really makes them dangerous. A Rams / Saints NFC championship game would be good and either of them against the Chiefs should be good.

They may be winding down, but they still have a fairly easy schedule left and the AFC has virtually no other competition aside from the Chiefs and the sometimes good Steelers. Even if the Patriots get destroyed by another mediocre team they will still easily make the playoffs and be in contention for a first round bye week.

Well, the Broncos tried to lose, and the officials did their part to help, but in the end, they just couldn't pull it off. Squeaked that last-second FG past the upright for the one-point (should've been three-point) win.

And I still can't get used to calling their opponent the LA Chargers.

Vance Joseph sure seems like a nice guy. He seems to garner loyalty of the team. But he needs to engage all the brain cells for those sudden circumstances or get another coach to do it for him. I suspect this is his last year as the Broncos head coach.

And the most exciting player in the league to watch is Phillip Lindsay. Born and raised in Colorado, played for CU, walked on as an undrafted free agent, left no doubt that he belongs on the team, and he just burns up the turf.

The Steelers (especially Big Ben) seem to always poop their pants against the Patriots in the playoffs and in big games. The Chiefs worry me.

I'm really OK with a NE early exit from the playoffs. I'm not OK with not having a legitimate backup QB to a 41 year-old starter. Even if said starter is one of, if not the, greatest to ever play the position. It makes no sense. Drafting a QB has to be the highest priority in the offseason. And it better be one that is NFL ready.
