I watched some of the Alabama/LSU tussle a view weeks ago and enjoyed it. Not much of a college fan as we don’t really have a big time team here. What time is the Penn State game on? Was really impressed with the crowd and energy of that game a few weeks ago...very cool.
12 Noon. I'm working until 3pm so I'm Tivo'ing it. I predict the exciting part of the game will happen in the fourth quarter. Penn State has the greatest fans that show up to the games. When they have a 'White Out' (and now they occasionally mix in a 'Stripe Out') with over 100,000 attendees at a home game it is quite a site to see.

LOL. I couldn't remember if they were lifting his suspension for the last two games of the season or just the last game, but it looks like he'll be back this weekend. Are you a Penn St. fan, Dio?
I've been a Penn State fan longer than I was a NY Jets fan... which is like a hundred years. Penn State football is almost a religion in these parts.

Have you caught any of the media hype over the train wreck of Arkansas football? OMG, there is major drama in town here right now. They're saying everyone from Guz Malzahn to Mike Leach, to Les Miles, to who knows is interested in the job. For my money? Any of those guys would have to be crazy to come take over this derailed disaster....lol.

I’ve caught some of it. Who do you thing would be the coach to give the Razorbacks the best chance at becoming relevant again in the SEC? Butch Jones sure would make things entertaining. I'd think the key might be which coach would be best at recruiting to bring in the best players for the future.

Also, don’t give up hope. Look at the devastation to the Penn State football program as a result of the the Sandusky scandal and wrongful firing of Joe Paterno. It was predicted at the time it would take Penn State decades to recover. In comes Bill O’brien and he makes them relevant in short order with no name players and very limited scholarships. Now James Franklin has them in the rankings almost every year. Sometimes the right coach makes all the difference.

Yes he would. He's had a lot of experience and for the most part he's been successful so he'd be a good candidate. They are going to HAVE to go for a big name this time. This last time around, when they named Chad Morris the new coach, the whole state did a collective "WHO?"..including me. I knew he'd been the offensive coordinator for Sweeney at Clemson but since then I honestly did not know where he was. I knew coming from SMU to and SEC program was not going to work though. I called that from the get go. His first words when he came here were "We will have the most explosive offense in the country!" Yeah, you don't come to the SEC and say that....lol.

I'd like to see Mike Leach I think take the job. He's an offensive minded coach, much like Bobby Petrino was when he was here, that's the last time our program was on the upswing. Leach was apparently very close with Frank Broyles, the long time AD here and man behind the thrown of Arkansas athletics for about 50 years. Apparently Leach liked the area over here when he was an assistant at Western Kentucky and expressed interest during the last coaching search. Having said that, I'm just not sure anyone is going to want to inherit a program that is so far down in the dumps, ya' know?

....really bro?.....REALLY??....
LOL, sorry amigo, I've just never cared much for the Buckeys, but I think they have a very good chance to run the table this year and walk away with a national championship. There ain't a whole lot wrong with that team in any area. They are as tough as I've ever seen them and Chase Young is the best defensive player I've seen since Jadavian Clowney from SC a few years back. Since my home team is possibly the worst team in division 1 football, I'm looking forward to the distraction of the Ohio St. vs Penn St. game. It'll keep me from watching the Razorbacks get annihilated by LSU in death valley...lol

Very true. I'm hoping the right coach can do the same thing here, but the competition level is so high in the SEC, there just aren't any easy games when the program is down so far like it is now. It's going to be a long trip back to competitiveness. Right now, a .500 season sounds too good to be true.

It’s even tougher for Penn State because their athletes are expected to keep up academically. I remember many times when reporters asked Joe Paterno why didn’t recruit so-in-so. Often his answer was the player wouldn’t be able to handle the academic challenges needed to attend Penn State. I guess Penn State is lucky in the aspect they pull good athlets from PA, NJ, and NY as it has the best football program available to those states, and they pull from some other nearby states, also. I know Penn State has been a thorn in Rutgers side as they usually pull most of the best players NJ has to offer.

Very true. Recent events aside, Penn St. has one of the most vaunted reputations in college football. Who wouldn't want to come play there? That's the mentality we have to change here at the U of A. Right now, our best players are entering the transfer portal or just out and out leaving for other schools for a reason, there just ain't a lot to hang around here for. I can remember a time, call it ten years ago when home games here in Fayetteville were city stopping events. The U of A campus was shut down to deal with traffic and the stands were sold out, even for games against small schools. The Razorbacks have never been national championship caliber since they joined the SEC, but we did usually manage to place in the top 3 in the SEC West on a pretty consistent basis under Houston Nutt and Bobby Petrino. Now?, you could have gone down and sat on the bench during the last 3 or 4 home games and I bet no one would have noticed you were there. The whole fan base seems to be about to jump ship. I can't blame 'em, it's been a long time since we had any reason to hold our collective heads up here as far as our football program and now, the bar is so low, I just don't know what it's going to take or if its even possible to get us back to even a .500 team in the SEC with the competition as stiff as it is. It's going to take a special coach to do that, and I knew from day 1 Chad Morris was NOT going to be able to handle it. I felt the same about Bret Bielema. It's one thing to have success in other conferences, but Bielema had never coached in the SEC and he tried to build a Wisconsin-like Big 10 type team and it just didn't work. I'm not exactly sure what all it's going to take to return Arkansas football to decency, but I'm betting they are going to try and land a big name coach this time around. We need one...lol

Last 3 years Penn State vs Ohio State...

2016 Penn State 24, Ohio State 21
2017 Ohio State 39, Penn State 38
2018 Ohio State 27, Penn State 26

It should be a good game despite Penn State being such an underdog this weekend as the two teams play each other tough.

If by some miracle of the football gods sees Penn State pulls out a win this weekend there is a good argument they should be in the top 4.

GO PENN STATE!
