well the typical practice for a split adaptation is to film it all at once dethly hallows twishit and mockingjay all did this

Yeah, and like how LOTR was back-to-back, flicks like that, and I've often wondered what they'da done had Fellowship of the Ring just totally frackin bit it at the box.

Four movies for one adaption? I knew that wouldn't happen. It could be done in three, and well, I think. Two won't be enough.

I don't really count LOTR as a split adaptation because it was still 3 books although that's not what Tolkien intended back in the true dark age when the stand was only going to be one film Boone did say it would be 3 hours long I think 2 3 hour films could be PASSABLE if still LACKING the true potential of a trilogy

Just talkin about shooting big budget back-to-back epic flicks such as any and all you might have how there's always risks involved and money people scurrying here und zere leaving droplets of poop behind every time someone sez money or betrays a knack for losing such

Hmm...nope, I tried it, but I like using punctuation. To each his own, I'd wot.

Franco as Flagg. I think that sounds interesting.

I was just playing with everyone- Molly is very polarizing on the SKMB- half of us despise her for her turn as Frannie and the other half say she did an okay job. I'm in the second half.

Doesn't say how long each one will be though, the mini series was 4 90 minute films, and that still cut a good bit out and merged characters. I wonder who this mind blowing cast will be. Will Harold be fat like the book or rake thin like the mini series?

I hope it's worth the wait. By the time film 1 gets made and released it could be 2019 by the time we get to see film 4.

I read recently that Matthew McConaughy possibly may play Randall Flagg. I can't wait

He won't, sadly. Entertainment Weekly recently published online their extensive coverage of The Dark Tower film, including an interview with MM where it states he TURNED DOWN the role of Flagg in The Stand for the role of, er, Flagg in TDT. He can't play both because - wait for it - each film is owned by different studios, so no chance of any connection happening onscreen.

Maybe it's for the best. I read a review of Boone's initial draft for The Stand movie. The climax is something that fans would NOT have liked. That being said, if Revival does go through, I hope they get a strong enough director so Sam Jackson doesn't come across as hammy in his role.
They've even have to be more careful than they before! I still cherish my DVD's of the original!
