This one scared me. And then the whole thing about "absorbed twins" - I had never heard that before. Thanks to TLC, most of us have now, but I swear, I thought Stephen King made that up! I was in a dark place in my life, and I lived way out yonder, mostly alone, when I read this, so that amped up the fright factor. Where does the man get all that talent?

I'd never heard about absorbed twins either, I thought it was a fictional reason for a Dr Jeckle Mr Hyde kind of story. The idea of absorbed twins scares me :(

lol GNT... Are you a distributor of Amway products?
....no, but I would like to talk to you about my Lord Jesus Christ, and drop off a few tracts if you have a moment.....

You might think he made a pact with the Interloper, but, no. He's just fabulously talented.
Hard work also enters into it.

Ha! I actually do that. I've been all over the Boston area going door to door. And I've done street preaching at Filene's Basement downtown. I moved from there in 2002, back to my little hometown in Idaho - Fruitland. I go door to door here too. It's really different when every other person that opens the door knew you when you were a bratty kid! But if you believe as I do, then you politely try anyway. If someone's not interested, I move on (that's extremely common by the way). The key for me is I like these people. A lot. And, like King, I believe firmly in evil and what it can do to a person. Maybe that's why I enjoy his books so much. Well, that and the exceptional writing. Man he can write a sentence or two. Breathtaking sometimes.

I'll tell you a funny story along those lines. I'm a local lawyer - a general practice in a very small town. I once defended a guy that tried really hard to get at me through the jail-house glass. He was extremely angry at me. I was disappointed, because I was doing my best for him, but there it was. Anyway, he got a different lawyer. Some years later, two or three, I'm going door to door on a Saturday morning and whose doorbell should I ring but his. He's dressed in boxers and nothing else. We immediately recognize each other. While I'm wondering if he's going to come at me there on the doorstep I do my thing and invite him to church. He looks me up and down and then says, "No thanks. We're Lutheran." I didn't laugh at the time because I'd rather not create any trouble. But I laughed a lot later at that.

...great story...and I was simply cracking wise on a old comic "saw" if you will...I mean no disrespect, I just can't deal with "God Pounders" that won't remove themselves from my porch when I tell them I'm not interested...I've started telling them I can't listen to their sermon-the dead body in the kitchen is cooling to rapidly....

I hear you. I'm not particularly patient with the JWs and Mormon missionaries that come to my door. Though I'm polite. Because of that, I get it when I do it. I'm not pushy. We're all free to choose for ourselves. But I do believe something that I think has eternal results. So I try to spread it for the benefit of anyone who will believe. But I'm not offended when someone doesn't. That's their call. Not mine. They're as free as I am to make up their own mind and act appropriately.

And I wasn't offended. I've been around. I have a broad circle of friends of various persuasions different than mine who I care deeply about and spend time with. I never hide who I am or what I believe but I do not take it personally when others disagree. I have several interesting stories about that kind of stuff. Life is full of crazy.

I like that this artist respects the details in King's books. Like here, the bird is a sparrow and not the large crow-like birds often seen on covers of The Dark Half. And the straight razor and books are a nice touch. So much is conveyed with just the blood, books and bird. Very nice job.
little red eye.....nice touch
