Given the track record regarding Stephen King movies i'm surprised any Stephen King fan wants their favourite King novel turned into a
movie. There are a few exceptions but most movies are pretty bad. It always amazes me how they can turn such great books into such horrible movies. Funny thing is that most people associate Stephen King with all the bad movies. A lot of people don't read his books because they think they are as bad as the movies.
There have been some real stinkers out there but then you get films such as Shawshank Redemption, the Green Mile, Carrie, Misery, even "The Shining" although King himself was not pleased with that adaptation.

I have heard Dolores Claiborne with Kathy Bates is also quite good [I've never seen that one].

Stand by Me is a very good movie.

Some might disagree but I really liked "Dolan's Cadillac"

Anyway you can't just give up on the whole idea of adapting a book into a movie just because it might not be absolutely perfect.

I hope more people start to realize that he (Stephen King) is not just about horror and gore and things that go bump in the night :friendly_wink::laugh:

I think The Dead Zone was a good adaptation as well.

I voted for The Long Walk. I really hope Duma Key isn't made into a movie - I like it just how it is and I would really be upset if some producer/director changed the characters or the storyline. I love The Long Walk too... I just think the film industry has a better chance of not screwing it up.
