The last part of Pet Sematary (the novel) always reminded me of The Exorcist. But the child in Pet Sematary is much younger, I can't think of another horrorfilm that uses such a young child in a similar situation.
I get the feeling they were very careful about what they were doing with such a young child, and what they could show. He was also hit by a truck, but only has one scar on his forehead and looks normal apart from that.
I don’t understand why Gage looked so normal after resurrection in the original movie, I imagined zombie-Gage in the novel of looking more like you’d think a three year old hit by a huge truck would look like. The last part of PS has a lot of similarities to the Exorcist, but is also kind of like a slasher flick.

I think they were just being careful with Gage, because of the censors. Adults in the film, like Pascow, look gory enough.

It seems Norma is again missing in the remake. The only reason I can think is, is that they will never pass the censors with having a young child saying things like that.

I think she just makes the movie longer. Have you ever seen the movie Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back? it shows Baby Jay saying the the f word multiple times in a row and it passed the censors.

They heal when they come back in the book. Church;s neck wasn't broken and Spot's gunshots were just dimples. Maybe the power of the place fixed Gage up as much as possible.

Perhaps because it's a comedy they allowed it. But I don't know how the MPAA thinks.

King always has so many characters that there are always gonna be a lot left out, but the strange thing is that in the new one Norma is out again. Does the Pet Sematary documentary Unearthed and Untold touch on the subject of her omission?

It's still strange that the power was able to fix up a child that had been hit by a truck up completely, except for one scar. If it could fix everything else, that was no doubt heavily damaged, a scar like that shouldn't be a problem.

You might be forgetting that the mortician would have also worked on Gage to make him more presentable (even though it was a closed casket).

I may be wrong but..I thought in the past when that guy was pointing out Jud and his buddies failings or problems. It pointed out that Jud got around and went to a whore house now and then. That Norman knew about it and let it go. Well maybe it turns out she could let it go due to the fact she was no better.
